Manchester’s favourite Northern Quarter bistro, The Blue Pig, has launched a brand new menu this week. To celebrate they are running special offer whereby everyone claim 50% off steaks from Monday (11 May) until NEXT Friday (15 May). Steaks include hanger steak, sirloin on the bone, T-bone, flat rump and wild boar. Sides include skin-on fries, flat field mushroom, grilled tomato, pickled, ale-battered onion rings and smoked garlic butter or peppercorn sauce. Many of the Blue Pig’s burgers are still available such as New York Deli Burger plus new additions like the Dirty Pig (pork burger, smoked bacon, fried egg and roast tomato chutney). There’s lashings of choice for veggies too including a decadent take on the classic ‘tricolour’ salad with deep fried buffalo mozzarella, chilli slow-roasted tomatoes, avocado and lime pesto. Other mains include the Pig Dog, fish and chips and fried buttermilk chicken. A new addition to the sharing board menu is called ‘Happy As A Pig In…’ and comes with crispy fried pork balls, ginger and chilli crackling, pork dripping bread, black pudding scotch egg and bacon jam. Sweet treats include Choffles (where waffles meet churros) and there are lashings of craft beers, fine wines, cocktails and more to enjoy. The new menu is sourced from suppliers like WH Frost butchers in Chorlton, fish is sustainable, vegetables are seasonal – plus portions are famously generous. The 50% off offer, however, is all about steak.
