If you’re missing this year’s Christmas markets, LEGO may have just the thing to raise your Christmas spirits. This year, Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester is hosting a virtual Christmas light switch-on – for their miniature Christmas Markets. The miniature build is a replica of Manchester and will even include an ice-rink and carol concert. Built from 1.5 million bricks (we do not envy the person who had to count those!) their Miniland is situated in the Manchester Legoland Discovery Centre at the intu Trafford Centre.

On Thursday 19 November at 6.30pm, Legoland invites fans to visit their Facebook page for the exclusive Manchester Miniland Christmas light switch-on, where you can join LEGO Santa in pressing the button to light up the whole of Manchester – in miniature form at least. It is doubtful that any of us ever thought we’d envy a LEGO mini-figure, but after seeing them queue for a mulled wine and bratwurst completely COVID-free, it’s hard not to be jealous!
