Oldham taps into Asian culture this August as it celebrates Chand Raat with a full-of-life, family-friendly market. Translating as ‘night of the moon’, Chand Raat is a festivity marking the end of fasting month and the start of the annual Islamic festival Eid ul Fitr. Taking place in Oldham’s Tommyfield Market, the event plays host to a wide collection of entertainment and goods, with around 50 stalls offering fashion, jewellery, mehndi, traditional desi food and more. With music and dance entertainment throughout the day, get into the spirit with performances from top UK Bollywood Entertainer Faraz Khan, father-daughter duo Rajesh & Rupika Vaidya and local singer Blitz-I as you soak up the culture and sample the traditional cuisine.
