WOOD Manchester – named after renowned chef, Simon Wood – is transforming into a ‘tacos and tequila’ terrace. Located on Jack Rosenthal Street on the First Street area of town, the restaurant will serve their new Signature Taco Range, alongside a number of tequila cocktails, from Monday 12 April for a month. Whilst the restaurant will not fully open until Monday 17 May, food can be eaten on the new terrace on a walk-in basis, and takeaways will be available from the WOOD shack.

Alongside a small menu of other Mexican dishes, the signature range of tacos will have three fillings to choose from: pulled chicken, Aleppo cod and charcoal-smoked oyster, each served with fermented red chillies and the chef’s signature Devil’s Tongue hot sauce. Even better, WOOD is also promising a free taco with the first beer or margarita you buy.

Simon Wood, winner of the 2015 MasterChef competition, opened WOOD Manchester in September of 2017, and throughout lockdown, the WOOD shack was opened for take away food. Earlier in the year, Simon also launched a website that detailed how to create delicious food for the family on a tighter budget, which was later adopted by food banks to help families during the pandemic.
