Last weekend’s International Festival of Psychedelia in Liverpool brought many great experiences, and not just everyone realising how big their hands were. One of the undoubted highlights though was Chilean duo The Holydrug Couple. If you weren’t able to attend the Mersey Psych event, or can’t remember much apart from all the pretty colours it is definitely worth getting to the upstairs ballroom of the newly refurbed Gullivers to bathe in the bewitching, blissed-out psych pop from these South American treats. Support comes from local groove addicts Championlover, and Tombed Visions label founder (and Manchester Wire writer) David McLean. A heady brew of chilled out, avant-garde sounds await those who make the journey. Well worth it.
