To celebrate the release of Ricky Gervais’ new film, David Brent: Life on the Road, Common and The Beagle have compiled a pair of quizzes themed around everyone’s favourite dysfunctional office. With Brent acting out as their self-nominated inspirational leader, the early 2000s comedy series turned daily drudgery into a deadpan masterclass, filled with cringeworthy exchanges and memorable lines. But just how memorable were they? Everyone can picture Brent’s unique break dancing style, but can you quote back all of Finchy’s misogyny, recall Gareth’s army training advice and list off all of Tim and Dawn’s pranks? Here are a couple of ways to find out on consecutive nights – both free entry with bar tab prizes to be won. The Common Knowledge quiz masters are heading out to Chorlton’s The Beagle on every third Thursday of the month, adding to their first and third Wednesdays at Common, so keep ’em peeled for more themed quizzes both in and out of the city.
