Beer and Cricket: a match made in heaven. Though the thought of going abroad with the ‘barmy army’ (for those who don’t enjoy the sound of cork on willow, that’s the name given to the group of fans who follow England around the world, getting pissed while watching cricket) might sound horrible, having a lovely drop of ale in the surrounds of one of the most picturesque grounds in the region should be pretty fun, right? The Beer & Bazaar weekender offers exactly that opportunity, as well as food from Margo y Rita (the mexican street food pop-up on everyone’s lips at the minute), Fire & Salt BBQ, Mio Pizza, Tibetan Kitchen, Ginger’s Comfort Emporium and more. The Saturday also offers stalls selling vintage clothing, records, illustrations and crafts, while beer over the two days will be taken from a selection of local and national brewers (think Beartown, Marble, Hornbeam and Wainwrights and you won’t be far wrong), as well as the promise of music. There will be DJs and music too, to provide a bit of sonic context, and early forecasts even suggest there might be that most precious of things to add the icing to an especially tempting cake: sun.
