Oxjam Manchester returns with a stellar line-up this weekend – and for the first time, the three-day live music bonanza will take place in Chorlton. With musicians taking centre stage in many of Chorlton’s finest bars, one of the key venues is Oddest, which will be playing host to a dozen acts over Saturday and Sunday. Fans of everything from reggae to folk and nu jazz are in luck as highlights of the bill include funk specialists White Sugar and ambient mavericks Moody Elf as well as acclaimed singer-songwriters like Issac Bloomfield and Russell Swallow. Entry is free, with donations to Oxfam very welcome. There are some charitable prices going on behind the bar too, with happy hour drinks (5pm – 7pm) such as £2.50 spirit mixer, £2.75 for lager, and £9 for a carafe of wine. On Saturday night only, reggae, dub and ska DJ Jimmy Nolan plays a special late set until 1.30am.

Sat 3 & Sun 4, Oddest Bar 414-416 Wilbraham Road, Chorlton, M21 0SD. Tel: 0161 860 7515, www.oddestbar.co.uk
