Taking place next Saturday in the picturesque setting of St. Clement’s Church, is Chorlton’s Big Green Happening. This all-day eco festival aims to inspire people to lead more sustainable lives. Many different makers, doers, growers and educators will be present with products and advice. You’ll find all different food stalls, including those from The Vegan Network, the acclaimed curry house Barakah, and the organic co-op The Unicorn. Craft ales will come courtesy of Old Abbey Tap House. A family-friendly affair, there will be kids’ activities and representatives from the Children’s International Summer Village. From 6pm, the church will be transformed with a light show, for the evening event. This will feature an eco-fashion parade, a Northern Soul dance class and music from local talent. Being good green girls and boys, you’ll want to save carbon by getting there via public transport. Luckily, the venue is a short walk from the Chorlton Metrolink stop and is close to the No. 86 bus route.
