The Horse & Jockey in Chorlton is a proper old-school inn overlooking the village green. What makes it extra special, however, are the events that take place there, including regular craft fairs and farmers’ markets. In the run up to Christmas, for one evening only, the pub will be hosting its annual Twilight Market out on the green. Visitors can expect crafts, street food and the inevitable but always welcome glühwein. Opera singer Aimee Toshney will enhancing the seasonal mood with Christmas songs and other classics. The Horse & Jockey can be found at the end of the very fashionable Beech Road. The 85, 86, and 168 buses will take you to the nearby Chorlton Bus Station, or it’s a 10-minute walk from the Chorlton Metrolink station – so bring your thermals!
