Family theatre makers Wrongsemble served up an alternative Christmas theatre show to suit a strange 2020 – and now they’re giving audiences the chance to watch it from home in early 2021 for just £5. Entitled HUMBUG, it’s an unique online adventure (with some fun offline, IRL elements sent to you in the post). The show combines seven filmed story episodes with 13 intriguing objects in a real life ‘fact file’.

The story takes place in a magical, underground world – The Ministry of Make Believe – where wizards bake endless gingerbread, goblins bottle festive cheer, and there’s a whole department devoted to detangling fairy-lights. However, all is not quite as it seems in this festive domain. Your mission is to find out who – or what – is making things glitch.

Here at Manchester Wire, we have received our fact file packed with recipes for festive treats, packets of seeds, empty glass bottles, maps and more (see pic)… To brighten up your new year, Wrongsemble have made Humbug available to view online for just £5 per household until Sunday 31 January. To book your discounted tickets head here.
