The film adaptation of hit musical ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ comes to HOME from Fri Sep 17. Director Jonathan Butterell brings this brilliantly successful, one of a kind musical from the stage to the big screen for the first time. Inspired by a true story, the story follows Jamie New (Max Harwood), a Sheffield teenager with big dreams of drag queen stardom. While his classmates plan for their careers after high school, Jamie is unsure whether he should tell the truth about his ambitions for a life in the limelight. Along with an ignorant and unsupportive father, Jamie also has to contend with prejudices from his schoolmates and an uninspiring career advisor. But he also befriends a local drag legend, Miss Loco Chanelle (Richard E. Grant) who agrees to mentor Jamie for his onstage debut performance. With the support of his loyal best friend Pritti (Lauren Patel) and his loving mother (Sarah Lancashire), Jamie learns to live his truth out loud by embracing the fierce queen within him. In colourful and inspiring musical numbers, Jamie and his community encourage one another to be more open-minded and accepting, stepping out of the darkness and into the spotlight.

It’s an instant classic, and with a 12A certificate, it’s intended for the older children in any family or group as well as the adults.
