The world’s leading circus troupe, Cirque Du Soleil, return to Manchester for seven performances of astonishing acrobatics and aerial antics in September 2018. Brazilian-themed show, OVO, centres on the lives and loves of the insects in a colourful ecosystem. One day, a mysterious egg appears in their midst, and the quirky hatchling that springs from it catches the eye of a glamorous ladybird. It premiered in 2009 as a big top show, but was scaled up for arenas, and has now been performed to over five million people. This production has an international cast of over 50 performers – including British gymnastics champion Alanna Baker – all clad out in vibrant costumes. Set to Brazilian-inspired music, the cast crawl, leap, and of course fly – in one of the Cirque’s biggest ever aerial acts.
