The team behind Streford Foodhall and Ancoats’ General Store are set to open a new independent corner shop located in the Kampus garden neighbourhood by Canal Street.

Created in collaboration with developers CAPITAL&CENTRIC and HBD and designed by award-winning local studio YOUTH, this sleek, 4,500 sq. ft store promises a village market feel with floor-to-ceiling windows and artisan food and drink.

Kampus has rapidly become a home for Manchester’s most well-known indie operators. Earlier this year, Northern Quarter favourites Common & Co revealed plans to open a local pub and slice kitchen later this summer, and the Kampus General Store – due to open its doors in Autumn – looks set to be a welcome addition to this proudly independent neighbourhood.

In addition to housing artisan food and drink, the venue will also stock other daily essentials and a number of well-known brands alongside a zero-waste, household essential refill hub where customers are encouraged to fill up their own containers with cereals, washing up liquids and many others eco-friendly items to avoid waste and save money.

This new arrival follows the recent news of a General Store opening at Deansgate Square and another at Media City UK, taking over the former Booths unit. To find out more, visit the General Store website via the link below.
