Exciting news for the city today as Manchester Marketing and New York’s official destination marketing organisation, NYC Company, sign a city-to-city tourism partnership agreement. This brand new two year deal was formally unveiled earlier today at the city’s newest creative hub, Cultureplex, and will see the two cities working together to share tourism best practices alongside working with Virgin Travel to boost connections between the two locations. News of this partnership arrives just as the airline unveils plans to increase its capacity between Manchester and New York to 65% later this year together with plans to debut its iconic Clubhouse Lounge in Manchester, bringing with it a bar, spa, à la carte dining and workspaces for upper class customers and Gold Card members to use before their flight. This city-to-city collaboration will primarily focus on promoting both locations as go-to tourist destinations with a specific emphasis being placed on arts and culture, sports and LGBTQ+ travel, helping to secure Manchester’s status as a thriving cultural hub on a worldwide stage.
