If you fancy getting out of the city and checking out some of the finest British music about, you’d be hard-pressed to do better than head to Cloudspotting. The ‘micro-festival’ – which takes place in a remote woodland paradise in Gisburn Forest near Slaidburn, North East Lancashire – spans this weekend and features a host of acts – including Clinic, Colorama, Sweet Baboo, Serafina Steer, Jonnie Common, Wolf People, King Creosote & The Earlies and The Wave Pictures. Manchester-based Magic Arm, Literature Thieves, Tokolosh and Jesca Hoop are also set to perform on the festival’s main and lawn stages, while films, spoken word and ‘weirdness’ can be found at the site’s attic stage. Food producers from around the Ribble Valley will be on hand with refreshments and, thanks to a partnership with Go Inspire! and the Forestry Commission, the organisers will be offering some forestry-themed pastimes too. With weekend tickets a very reasonable £70 (including camping), Cloudspotting 2013 looks set to be the biggest and best yet.
