A socially safe way to go clubbing is coming to Manchester next month. From the creators of The Albert Hall’s popular club night La Discothèque comes Puffin Box – a unique rave experience which will launch exclusively in the city on Friday 7 August. Combing an industrial backdrop, eclectic selection of music, drinks packages and of course, a dancefloor – PuffinBox describes itself as ‘a rave in a box’ – where guests can enjoy a 90 minute mini-clubbing experience within their own social bubbles.

Located in the basement of the Northern Quarter’s recently refurbished Hilton House, these micro events will take place every Thursday and Friday (4:15pm-11pm) and every Saturday and Sunday (12:15pm-11pm) offering a mix of disco, funk, hip-hop, house and techno. Featured DJs and performers will include Funkademia, Hit & Run, La Discotheque and Love Dose amongst others. Each of the five cubed ‘Puffin Boxes’ can hold up to eight guests at a time and come complete with a fully stocked fridge of pre-ordered drinks plus comfy sofas and your own dancefloor. The boxes are positioned to surround the DJ, so you’ll be in prime position to dance your cares away.

Every measure has been taken to ensure your experience is both fun and safe including a one-way entry-exit system, social distancing in queues and a full clean of the areas between each session. Co-founders of Puffin Box – Kat Warburton and Natalie Lea see this launch as a way of adapting the clubbing experience whilst also supporting the nightlife industry during this difficult time. “As the spiritual home of rave, we’re so excited to launch Puffin Box in Manchester. While we can’t go to stereotypical raves in the city we have to adapt, so here we have a rave in a box” says Kat. “As the hospitality industry slowly recovers, it’s so important to support DJs, performers, sound and light engineers as much as we can.” Natalie adds. Puffin Box are also hoping to continue partnering with some amazing artists and brands in the future – both locally and internationally. Below is a quick run-down of the line-up throughout August:
