Thu 20 Mar | Frontin’ | Joshua Brooks
To celebrate its first birthday, Frontin’ has invited Dub Boy, a lynchpin of the Bristol dancehall scene to play. Expect dubplate specials galore and hopefully some bumping garage from his Dutty Inspectors side-project. £1 advance tickets are gone, but it’s still dead cheap at £3.

Thu 20 Mar | Addison Groove & DJ Die | Soup Kitchen
Bristolian Addison Groove helps to launch his album on Modeselektor’s 50 Weapons imprint with a special event at Soup Kitchen. In line with recent presentations by Soup Kitchen, Addison Groove will be playing all night, but he’ll be joined by D&B legend and collaborator, DJ Die. It’s unlikely you’ll ever get to see this again.

Fri 21 Mar | In The Loop | The Roadhouse
One of the best places for a Manchester-based MC to go, this month’s cypher features live backing from 8 Gold Rings, who celebrate 20 years since the release of Ready To Die with a host of Biggie instrumentals. One for the true hip-hop lovers.

Fri 21 Mar | Gorgon Sound (pictured) | Antwerp Mansion
Gorgon Sound is yet another string to dubstep/grime rising stars Kahn & Neek’s bow. With their roots in Bristol soundsystem culture, the duo use the project to showcase their reggae flex, with an emphasis on the dubplate side of things. This is the first time they’ve played in Manchester under this moniker – and I’m sure the city’s ready for them.

Sat 22 Mar | Mella Dee | Joshua Brooks
Mella Dee is the solo project of one half of garage/bassline act Mista Men, previous Swing Ting guests. Dropping the tempo has resulted in releases on Wolf Music and Sccucci Manucci – and the Heavy Rain crowd will be in for a bit of a treat, with loads of upfront, bumpy house music.
