Acclaimed contemporary circus company Ockham’s Razor returns to Lowry with a brand-new aerial spectacle this February.
Collaborator is a deeply intimate duet performed by Ockham Razor’s two artistic directors, Alex and Charlotte, who have spent the last two decades lifting, catching, occasionally dropping, and picking one another up.
The show is a poignant, acrobatic exploration of creation and compromise. Taking place on a suspended frame, the highly physical performance is a heartfelt dive into navigating a relationship and the negotiation involved in working and making decisions together.
This is the first chance to see the performance outside of the capital, where it made its debut at the London Mime Festival, and the final opportunity to see Charlotte and Alex perform as a duo. After 20 years of creating large-scale ensemble works and touring internationally, Collaborator marks a significant moment for Ockham’s Razor, showcasing its two founders in a full-circle moment, bringing the focus back to the essential creative relationship between these two artists.
Steve Cowton, Head of Theatres at Lowry, said: “Ockham’s Razor remain one of our key Partner Companies – and occupy a unique and inspirational place among contemporary circus in this country. As they celebrate Twenty Years of working together, we’re absolutely delighted to welcome this intimate and extraordinary show to Lowry”
