A new photography exhibition from a collective of 10 Manchester Metropolitan University students has taken over a unit along Sale Market Walk.
Collecting Dreams is here for seven days and explores the theme of fantasy and deception in a variety of different ways.
In its earliest forms, photography was used as a tool for documentation, the goal of the image was to provide a truthful representation. Today in the age of social media domination we find ourselves drowning in a sea of edited and staged posts all desperately fighting for our eye’s attention.
The lines between reality and fantasy have become increasingly blurred, photography has become a deception of people’s idealised dreams and reveries designed to grab attention.
Collecting Dreams explores these fantasies, and is open to the public between the hours of 10am-5pm until Sun 15 May.
