Manchester comedy promoters A Lovely Time are putting together a day of stand-up shows at Cultplex, appropriately titled, “A Lovely Day”.

As comedians and punters weigh up the pros and cons of the expense of heading to the Fringe, there is a groundswell of support to replace the Scottish capital’s stranglehold on the comedy scene every August.

Why not something ‘lovely’? A Lovely Day is a mini-festival with five shows taking place over the course of Saturday 3rd June including telly names like Spencer Jones, Mancunian legend Rachel Fairburn and rising stars Vittorio Angelone, Erika Ehler and William Stone. Ticket prices are low and you can get a day pass to see all the shows for just £20. A Lovely Day indeed.
