Imran Yusuf had been happily pottering about on the comedy circuit doing sets here and there when he decided he’d head to the Edinburgh Fringe, combining all his feelgood material into one show. In a small room over the course of the Festival, the crowds got bigger and bigger, with queues for his no-cost show snaking out of the room and around the building. Word caught on and the judges of the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award turned up, so he was nominated for Best Newcomer too. TV appearances on the likes of Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow followed and after a second solo show in 2011 you can now catch him on tour.
