If you love live comedy but can’t quite afford the time (or indeed the cash) involved in heading up to the Edinburgh Fringe in August, preview shows are an absolute winner. Didsbury Comedy Club are hosting two international comics before they take on the Fringe. New Zealander Jarred Christmas (pictured) and Canada’s Glenn Wool serve up a one-two punch of side-spitting comedy from a pair that are at the top of their game. Described as ‘effortlessly funny’ by The Guardian Wool has been entertaining audiences with his tales of debauchery for some 25 years, and now faces his biggest task, fatherhood. Meanwhile Christmas will be bringing his tale of genetics and his humdrum existence in ‘Remarkably Average’ a new show from the infinitely likeable Kiwi. Two shows for cheaper than you’d find either up in the Scottish capital and without the travel time too. Now you’re laughing.
