Laura Davis and Adam Hess | The Bread Shed | Tue 23 Jul | 7.30pm | £5/3
The Edinburgh Fringe is nearly upon us and a short break for this weekly round up whilst we check out the frenzied state of the Scottish capital for a month. To send us off XS Malarkey have some of their best preview double bills saved to the end finishing with Peter Fleming and Gabby Best next week but not before Adam Hess and Laura Davis show what they’ve got first. Hess is one of the most original thinkers in the game, constantly accessing the weirdness in the commonplace whereas Davis is the best comic to come out of Australia since Sarah Kendall.

Michelle Wolf | The Lowry | Wed 24 Jun | 8pm | £28.50
Michelle Wolf was so successful in her White House Correspondents Dinner speech that they have since stopped having comedians perform at it. She simply couldn’t be topped. Or at least that’s how we read it. Acerbic, brilliant and smart as heck, inexplicably there are still a handful of tickets left for this show at The Lowry. Go see one of the best U.S. comedians currently operating.

Laughing Cows | Tribeca | Sun 28 Jun | £10
Laughing Cows is the longest running comedy club with an all female line up in the UK and possibly the world. This Sunday’s installment features Allyson June Smith, Thanyia Moore and a special guest all held together by Sian Davies. Always a high calibre affairs, you can see why it’s stayed around as long as it has.
