Flim Nite | Mon 8 Oct | 3 Minute Theatre | 7.30pm | donations on the door
Might be a little early for Halloween themed nights but Flim Nite don’t really care about conventions so will be kicking All Hallow’s Eve off early with a treat of an evening of comedians, poets and more dissecting horror classic A Nightmare on Elm Street. In the cold light of day Freddy Krueger’s story is pretty laughable so it’ll be great to see what Flim Nite’s regulars conjure up.

The Elvis Dead | Sat 13 Oct | The Lowry | 8pm | £12/10
One of the must see shows of the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe this show, much like the franchise ghouls that spawned its incarnation cannot be killed. Rob Kemp’s love song to both Elvis Presley and The Evil Dead is unabashed fun and one for fans of the former, the latter and the neither as Kemp gives his all to shoehorn the storyline of the Bruce Campbell film into the songs of the King of Rock n Roll. Unique doesn’t even cover it.
