Edinburgh preview season is upon us once more and Tribeca Comedy Night are offering up a double bill of rising stars for a midweek treat. George Rigden recounts the true life tale of his bizarre friendship with spoon bending Jacko pal Uri Geller, whilst Mark Grimshaw will be bringing down the current ‘Corporate Distopia’ with his broad swipe at the capitalist machine.

Manchester’s best improvisers bring their on the hoof murder mystery to The Ape and Apple where there’s been a death, at an am-dram staging of The Lion King. As premises go that’ll take some topping and we’re sure Murder Inc. will ‘yes and’ their way to the unusual suspects with great wit and free pizza.

Simon Munnery | Union Theatre | Fri 8 Mar | 7.30pm | £12
Master of the absurd Simon Munnery tells the story of when he went to a funeral and caught the wreath in his new show ‘The Wreath’. Spinning out from this in trademark Munnery fashion he has created possibly his finest show to date. With his back catalogue that’s some statement.
