Although the second wave put paid to her initial plans for A Lovely Time, stand-up comedian and one half of sketch duo The Delightful Sausage, Amy Gledhill was not one to rest on her laurels. While waiting for the green light for more live comedy she launched A Lovely Time as a podcast and has been joined by the likes of Jessica Fostekew, Jordan Brookes and Jayde Adams to discuss what makes their perfect day. Now with the “road map” indicating event spaces can host limited capacity shows from late May, Amy Gledhill and her comedy pals have planned a new debut for Saturday 5 June at Grub’s event space Chapeltown Picture House.

The debut incarnation of the stand-up showcase includes Sunil Patel (as seen on BBC3 and the new series of This Time with Alan Partridge), Wire favourite Jain Edwards, Jonny Pelham (recently on BBC’s Stand Up For Live Comedy) and host Amy Gledhill (Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated as part of The Delightful Sausage). All the performers have been recent guests on the podcast iteration of the show so if you need a taster then you can give them a listen. A great lineup at any time of year but when we’ve been starved of live comedy so much this year and a bit, it may be the best lineup of 2021.
