In Bits | The Castle | Tue 13 Mar | 7.30pm | £4
Jack Evans presents a night of new material from some of the city’s best comedians. Joining the mad genius of Evans is his former Quippodrome cohort Jayne Edwards who will be bringing her majestic creation Brian Top Bodybuilder to the stage, the loveliest comedian around in David Stanier and the cartoonesque wonder that is Harriet Dyer. One heck of a line up.

Daliso Chiponda | The Lowry | Thu 15 Mar | 8pm | £18.50
It’s a shame that it took heading to the cultural wasteland of Britain’s Got Talent for Daliso Chiponda to get noticed but Amanda Holden’s golden buzzer spoke and the UK listened. Now riding the crest of the wave that such exposure brings the Malawian comedian brings his new show ‘What the African Said’ to The Lowry and it’s a near sell out so act fast.

Gein’s Family Giftshop | The Lowry | Sat 17 Mar | 8pm | £12/10
It goes without saying that the third part of any trilogy is usually the weakest, be it the torporific Return of the King, the ewok infested Return of the Jedi or the Paul Walker-less Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift. So it is with some relief that we can say that Manchester sketch behemoths Gein’s Family Giftshop’s third installment is arguably their best show yet, and certainly their most complete work. With a topsy-turvy structure and an upping on gore & class politics this is a homecoming you won’t want to miss.
