Manchester’s longest running comedy club turns 19 and though information about the line up is thin on the ground you can rest assured that they will have a belter of a celebration. Malarkey host Toby Hadoke introduces a specially picked line up from their nearly two decades moulding the comedy scene in the city, a must for all fans of comedy. Here’s to another nineteen.

Two top Edinburgh Fringe shows for just £8 is a real steal this Friday night at the Dancehouse and especially so given the diversity of the acts.Tiernan Douieb is one of the country’s great rising satirists and at a time when the political world seems to be going crazier and crazier there is no better place for a satirist. Alongside Douieb is Australian artist, comic and comic artist Bec Hill. Seeringly intelligent with a high dosage of silly fun Hill is an infectious delight who is an utter joy to experience live.

The comedy gods must be particularly amourous around late January to have spawned two such excellent comedy shows each celebrating birthdays this week. Group Therapy have been largely responsible for an upsurge in quality left field acts coming to bigger stages in the city over the last four years and with this birthday shindig show no signs of abating. On hosting duties is Edinburgh Award nominee Nish Kumar with GT favourite and future of British comedy Liam Williams as headliner. Here’s to more than another four years…
