Lip Syncin Battle | Comedy Store | Mon 24 Aug | 7.30pm | £6
You’ve probably seen videos of Lip Sync Battle; the wildly popular Spike TV show in which wildly popular celebrities lip sync along to wildly popular songs. American nerd de jour Kate McCabe (pictured) brings her big fun small budget night back to the Village. For this instalment, she’s got newbies Beckie Fox and Callum Morris-Glue along with arch-prankster Bilal Zafar and the wonderfully dark Rachel Fairburn.

ComedySportz | Waterside Arts, Sale | Wed 26 – Thu 27 Aug | 11am-4pm | £40
Improv behemoth ComedySportz have been bringing American style competitive improv to Manchester for nigh-on 20 years. They run lots of courses to help people get into improv and this summer workshop is pitched squarely at kids 10 and over. So if you’ve got a summer-bored precocious youngster in your life, you could do a lot worse than have them burn an afternoon learning how to pretend to have a quirk at a dinner party.
