Ahir Shah | The Bread Shed | Tue 20 Feb | 7.30pm | £5/3
Arguably the sharpest political comedian working in the UK, Ahir Shah was rightly recognised with a nomination for best show at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe. Another boon for XS Malarkey as they continue on their hot streak of award winning comics this is a great chance to see Shah in a more intimate setting before he is selling out much bigger venues.

Lefty Scum | The Lowry | Wed 21 Feb | 7.30pm | £12/10
More political comedy and unashamedly leaning to the sinister side of the spectrum Josie Long and pals bring another night of Lefty Scum to The Lowry this week. Musical comedians Jonny and the Baptists and folk musician Grace Petrie will be joining Long for a night of light hearted ribbing of those rascally tories people keep voting into power.

Stu Goldsmith | The Bread Shed | Fri 23 Feb | 7.30pm | £10
King of the UK comedy podcasts Stu Goldsmith steps out from behind the dictaphone for his new solo show ‘Like I Mean It’. Just as his Comedians Comedian Podcast gets bigger and more culturally important guests, so too does Goldsmith improve as a stand up and his latest show is his best to date. His revision of his peers seeming to make him a stronger performer by osmosis.

Chris Washington | The Lowry | Fri 23 Feb | 8pm | £12/10
The surprise nomination that everyone was very pleased with, Chris Washington is on his first UK tour since his nod for best newcomer at last year’s Edniburgh Fringe. Golbourne’s most famous postman plays for the second time in a fortnight at The Lowry after his first date sold out so quickly and we urge you to grab some for this show before it too sells out too.

Dane Baptiste | The Lowry | Sat 24 Feb | 8pm | £12/10
After hosting Live at the Apollo Dane Baptiste has now well and truly made it and so is turning his provocative style on bigger enemies in his latest show ‘G.O.D. (Gold. Oil. Drugs.)’ and no doubt that acronym in the title will come in for no shortage of bashing. Baptiste takes a sledgehammer to the pursuits of wealth, power and pleasure, perhaps not exactly what you might want for your Saturday night out but certainly what you’ll need.
