James Meehan | Sandbar | Mon 13 Nov | 8pm | FREE
A change of scenery for James Meehan (pictured) as he goes from the tranquil surrounds of the Chorley library in which he filmed his stand up show ‘As If I Hadn’t Slept’ last week to the more rambunctious room at the back of Sandbar with Red Redmond’s Dead Cat Comedy Club. The former Gein’s Family Giftshop member has proven himself to be one of the most exciting comics currently working in Manchester with a forthright and inventive wit that marks him out from his peers.

Lost Voice Guy | The Bread Shed (formerly The Pub/Zoo) | Tue 14 Nov | 7.30pm | £5/3
Lee Ridley aka ‘Lost Voice Guy’ shows just how good a comedian’s writing can be as he uses an automated service on his iPad in order to ‘speak’ as cerebral palsy robbed him of the ability to use his own voice with an audience. Turning conventions upside down and constantly surprising punters with his sharp take on the art of stand up and his frank discussion of the difficulties facing those with disabilities. Brilliant comedy from a brilliant mind.

Jamali Maddix | The Old Pint Pot | Wed 15 Nov | 7.30pm | £6
Trapdoor Comedy continue at their new Salford home of the Irwell adjacent Pint Pot with the straight talking stylings of Jamali Maddix. Perhaps best known for his racist baiting, widely shared Vice show ‘Hate Thy Neighbour’ Maddix has been building a reputation as something of a comedy hero by facing down outed bigots with bravery and candour. At a particularly tough time for race relations in this country and the wider world it’s more than worth checking out the great deal of sense Jamali speaks with his incredulous look at life.

Jerry Sadowitz | The Dancehouse | Fri 17 & Sat 18 Nov | 8pm | £22.50
Comedian, magician and self-confessed ‘psychopath’ Jerry Sadowitz is back at The Dancehouse for a double helping of his incendiary lunacy. No stone will be left unturned and no taboo is off limits for Sadowitz and his scatter gun approach to comedy. Those who love him will already have tickets, those that might be a little unfamiliar with his ouvre are urged to check out a man deemed too terrifying for TV and catch a show like none other you’ll see around.
