In their 25 years at the heart of the Manchester comedy scene XS Malarkey have been no strangers to the odd move.

Putting on the likes of Peter Kay, John Bishop, Alan Carr, Justin Moorhouse, Sarah Millican and Jason Manford over the years at early stages of their glittering careers across various venues in the city, XS have always been comedy tastemakers no matter the address.

After a strong nine years at The Bread Shed they are moving on to pastures new in Canvas just around the corner on Oxford Road. Nothing’s changing but the venue, same unbelievably low price (£6, £3 for members!), same unbelievably strong lineups with forthcoming comedians include Sara Barron (Live at the Apollo, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order), Australian phenomenon Randy Feltface, Norwegian sensation Viggo Venn, and YouTube star Rosie Holt.

There are also special touring shows planned which will be in addition to the regular Tuesday nights. Here’s to the next 25 years!

Tue 17 Jan, 7.30pm, Canvas,
