Let’s hope the weather is fine this Bank Holiday Monday, as that’s the day of the Great Walk Together, a series of organised rambles. There are five routes to choose from, starting at: Trafford, Salford, Stockport, Oldham, and Crumpsall. They are mostly off-road, through green spaces or near water, and vary in length from one to seven miles. Each will have a walk leader who will be on hand to give commentary about points of interest. All walks converge on the city centre, with the final stop at Manchester Art Gallery between 2 and 4pm, where walkers will be treated to free refreshments. N.B. Participants will need to make their own way back home. Free tickets can be booked via the link below. The event is organised by the Greater Manchester Walking Festival in association the Great Get Together campaign, which was created to commemorate the late MP Jo Cox.
