Following its major overhaul earlier in the year, Common on Edge Street has been fine-tuning its food offering. Table service is out the window – with the exception of larger groups – and in come a bunch of potential new favourites: popcorn cockles (£3.50) could well be our new bar snack of choice, while from the big plates, the vegan soba noodles (£9.00) – served with cabbage, broccoli and smoked tofu – are another highlight. An expanded small plates selection (individual prices vary; 3 for £12) now includes asparagus, rhubarb & pea shoot, and a spiced lamb taco (pictured) with carrot and tzatziki. Common continues to up its bakery game too, with current favourites including doughnuts (with five filling choices) and a coconut, lime & pistachio cake. The new breakfast menu, meanwhile, is still available from 9am until midday on weekdays – with 30% off for the rest of July.
