Contact blends performance mixology with punchy poetry at The Big Banquet

Later this month, Contact draws its year-long 50th-anniversary celebrations to a magnificent close with its incredible two-day cultural programme, The Big Banquet.

Running across Fri 28 and Sat 29 Jul, among The Big Banquet’s numerous highlights is the Cocktails & Cinquains X Capsule Launch, which will bring the festivities to a spectacular close on the Saturday night.

Promising a night of ‘boisterous beverages and punchy poetry’, the event brings together a supremely talented guest poet and a performance mixologist for an unlikely evening of captivating entertainment.

Using the guest poet’s favourite cocktail as a starting point, things will quickly descend into a world of mixology mystery, as the cocktail specialist attempts to create a whole new drink inspired by poetry, influenced by audience reactions and ‘whatever is available in the shops’.

This special edition of Cocktails & Cinquains will also see Contact launching a brand-new capsule; a compilation album created by the venue’s most talented musicians and artists, while the ARMR Cafe and Kitchen will be serving up drinks throughout the evening.
