Collaborating to explore the rites of passage from adolescence to adulthood, Contact Young Company and arts collective Gob Squad host While We Were Waiting…Something Changed, an hour-long guided ‘pod walk’ around the Oxford Road area from Thursday 28 July to Saturday 30 July.
Transforming the visitor’s phone into a ‘portal to an alternate reality’, the audiovisual tour takes the audience on a route beginning and ending at Contact, stopping at ‘transitory, transformational and transcendental’ landmarks in a moving meditation on the purgatory between our irretrievable pasts and unknowable futures, the eternal state of balance between ‘no longer’ and ‘not yet’.
A mixed-media performing arts collective based between the UK and Germany, Gob Squad create with an aim to elevate the mundane and discover the points at which art converges with reality.
Although slots for While We Were Waiting…Something Changed are in five-minute increments, there are only four spaces to a slot, so check out the available times here to confirm your place. All you need is a fully-charged phone, earphones and some data.
