We’ve said this before – Content is one of Manchester’s premier destinations for the perfect balance of high end techno/house and dirty dancefloor hedonism, and this weekend they present the return of Octave One for a special live show. The Detroit techno duo last appeared at Content in 2011, and the night was arguably one of the finest sessions Content has presented in its lifetime. Having released on the likes of Underground Resistance, Tresor and the self-curated 430 West imprint, Octave One merge the boundaries between old skool original Detroit techno and more upbeat house melody. They will be performing a full live set, which isn’t easy to get right in the genre (the modern masters of live techno, Skudge, owe a lot to these guys) so their show is set to be a masterclass in the live reinterpretation of what is too often considered a primarily studio-based musical practice. Word has it they are bringing a lot of original rare studio equipment with them for the show, and visual elements are promised, meaning this event will be an intense stimulation for all the senses.
