While events at Sankeys have been known to stray into commercial and slightly cheesy territory, goings-on upstairs at sister club Spektrum have been altogether more serious. In fact, the team behind in-house clubnight Continue have curated some of the finest lineups in the city over the last year or so, often collaborating with some of Manchester’s most prescient promoting talent (Idiosync/Selective Hearing/Project13) to throw impressive (and often free) parties.
Their latest lineup represents the highlight of this month’s clubbing calendar with a visit from DJ Pete, fabled boss of Berlin’s legendary record store/distributor Hardwax. He’ll be backed by long-serving electronic artist James Holden and techno auteur Kolsch (live), while the second half of the bill would fill most venues as a standalone event. Swamp 81 star and former Instra:mental man, Boddika brings his mastery of 130bpm to the dancefloor, with local boy Synkro taking time out from various side projects to play an ever more rare hometown show. Wrapping things up is one of my all time favourite producers, Romanian Cosmin TRG, who brings his ruthlessly and relentlessly impressive talent to Manchester.
