Helping to support the city’s dining scene during this time of lockdown, Manchester Food and Drink Festival have recently launched a new YouTube channel. Titled MFDF TV, it already has three cooking demonstrations by local chefs and restaurateurs working from their home kitchens. Claire Kelsey, from Northern Quarter favourite Ginger’s Comfort Emporium, has a tutorial about you can make their delicious vegan salted caramel and peanut butter ice cream at home. Meanwhile, the Chef Patron of the high-end WOOD group of restaurants, Simon Wood, teaches you how to make salt and pepper chips and Maurizio from acclaimed local chain Salvi’s shares his recipe for the traditional Neapolitan dish pasta fagioli. Coming soon will be further video tutorials from local foodies, including folks from Chish and Fips (sic) and Tampopo, plus the man himself, Adam Reid, from The French. Also on the slate is a tutored wine tasting class. Get yourself a case delivered from Reserve Wines, and you can drink along with company owner Kate Goodman.
