Making use of puppet penguins in the style made popular by Warhorse, this stage show sees penguins Greta and Captain Cook take centre stage at The Lowry as part of a song-and-dance-filled production that’s suitable for all ages. Mr Popper is played by Russell Morton. He’s a character with unlimited passion for penguins and all things Antarctic. This is played out though correspondence with various historic explorers and a penguin called Captain Cook soon arrives, followed by a lady penguin called Greta. Many baby penguins soon join the fray in a gentle and fun show, that’s hosted in one of the Lowry’s more intimate theatre spaces.
