The 1980s can certainly be remembered for being a decade of fabulousness. Bringing us perms, leotards, Purple Rain… heck, even Knight Rider was glorious, it’s no wonder that we’re still raving about those neon years. And with that nostalgic, jingly jangly, time of the year approaching, what can be better than coming in from the cold and cosying up to some 1980s film classics? Well worry no more, as Cornerhouse clearly know what we want for Christmas. Their Merry 80s Christmas season kicks off in December with an eclectic mix of films – from the fantastical to the ludicrous. Beginning with the magical extravaganza that is The Never Ending Story (Sat 6 Dec), it’s a non-stop treat of indulgence thereafter. With films such as Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Die Hard, Ghostbusters and Labyrinth (pictured) gracing our screens, as well as a cheeky re-run of the not-so 80s classic, It’s a Wonderful Life, thrown in, Christmas will be hard to beat this year.
