West Coast troubadour Courtney Marie Andrews will find her way to Manchester’s Gorilla this April to play songs from her sixth LP, May Your Kindness Remain. Released in March, the album follows last year’s Honest, her first to make it across the Atlantic, and has attracted favourable reviews from Rolling Stone, NPR and Fader. It exhibits the traditional country-folk warmth and sincerity of storytelling synonymous with the genre’s leading lights, from Joni Mitchell to Emmylou Harris. Add to that her musical CV, which is packed with touring appearances alongside luminaries like The Handsome Family and Damian Jurado, and you can expect a polished show.

Sun 22 Apr, Gorilla, 54-56 Whitworth Street, Manchester, M1 5WW, Tel: 0161 826 2998, 7pm, £13.50, www.alttickets.com
