This landmark solo show takes a look at Deanna Petherbridge’s artistic career, starting from her roots in the 1960s and through to her politically charged triptych, The Destruction of the City of Homs (2016). Her work is typified by monochrome drawings which take inspiration from unusual landscapes and city life, taking in Italian idylls, Islamic architecture and Manchester’s Victorian-modern scenes. The collection brings together over 40 works from her career, including the Manchester Suite collection; drawings from her six-month residency at Manchester Art Gallery back in 1982.
