Interest in Austrian film director Michael Haneke is at a high, after his powerful Amour won the Best Foreign Language category at this year’s Oscars. At this rare screening Yves Montmayeur brings us a behind the scenes look at Haneke, a director known for his bleak and uncompromising style through interviews with actors, such as Amour’s Emmanuelle Riva and previously unseen footage. Those looking for concrete answers will be disappointed as Haneke insists on camera, “I don’t want to answer questions that make me interpret myself”. Nevertheless, this is a chance to see one of the few, world-famous auteurs at work. Described as a must see by The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw.
