In a move that will have most museums and cultural touchstones mouthing ‘why didn’t we think of that?!’ Cultural Comedy Tours takes boring old museum tour guides and replaces them with the best comedians around.
This month sees hilarious tech wizards Foxdog Studios and rising stand-up star Hannah Platt chaperone guests around Salford Museum and Art Gallery with their own irreverent take on the pieces on display.
Cultural Comedy Tours is a collaboration between comedian and musician Edy Hurst and comedian and producer Daniel Nicholas. They work closely with cultural institutions to produce bespoke events that are often funny, sometimes moving, always insightful and shaped by collections, exhibitions and buildings to help break down perceived barriers for visitors using play, entertainment and insider knowledge.
Something different and entertaining that you can definitely pass off as being culturally significant? Sign us up.
