Known for working with some of the country’s most highly sought after hip hop artists, a dance bill from Olivier award-winning Boy Blue Entertainment is treat enough. But a piece based on ‘the world in flux, a mood for change’ is as timely as it gets. Choreographed and directed by the same team behind HOME’s production of Romeo and Juliet, this dance piece explores the inner tension of a system that isn’t working, while looking to an awakening with ‘a return to roots and a celebration of culture’. Fusing hip hop and African dance, the abstract style looks at the socio-political climate, inequality in society and the role of social media within those things. Co-commissioned and co-produced by London venue the Barbican, this triple bill will balance music and dance with creativity. Expect to be challenged and thrilled.
