Make My Day! is free family festival taking place on Sunday 4 August in Morecambe’s West End Gardens. The one-day spectacular is packed with things to make, do and see; basically a crafty kid’s dream. For one day only, the famous gardens on Morecambe’s promenade will be transformed into a creative theme park for all ages. Taking in both making and doing activities there will be the chance to build stuff from old bits of wood (materials and tool provided), craft your own mini sock puppet or take part in what looks set to be one of the world’s biggest continuous drawings. No experience (or skill) is required, and all activities are supervised by friendly helpers. Other attractions include Putt-by-Numbers – a custom-made artist designed mini golf course built by Make My Day!’s creative community, an explosive painting spectacle using pneumatic cannons on a 12m square canvas created by Pif Paf theatre, and Mufti Games’ L_ve Hangman. This is a life-sized, 3D version of the pen and paper favourite. Live acoustic music will fill the air and NuJazz Arts’ are hosting an all-day kids rave tent. Please note: rain will not stop play, so a great day is guaranteed. And all for free – including plenty of on-street parking.
