Red Redmond’s free comedy behemoth charges on as he brings a night of recession-proof stand-up to the city with a bucket show. Not immediately springing to mind when you would think of a venue for comedy shows, Rain Bar is the latest venue to host this touring show of sorts. Red and the Dead Cat team have a knack for creating comedy in whichever place they deem fit to grace with their hilarious shows, and provided the night is still going come summer time, the bar’s beer garden could come in handy for a dead sunny ‘Dead Funny’. Or not. For the first night Red has already lined up some of the North West’s finest comics with Ashton-under-Lyne’s sexiest export (sexport) Liam Pickford (watch him in conversation with Red here), the irascible Lewis Charlesworth and the brilliantly inventive comedian and adult kid’s book author Sam Gore taking to the stage. A Wednesday night of comedy to help you over the hump of the working week, let’s hope Dead Funny lives a long and prosperous life.
