Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra at BOTW

The celebration of all things West African started by the city-wide We Face Forward exhibition continues in August with Dele Sosimi’s Afrobeat Orchestra raising the roof at Manchester’s home of progressive world sounds. Long-time collaborator of Fela and Femi Kuti on their Egypt 80 and Positive Force projects, Dele was the musical director of the acclaimed show Fela!, and is one of the UK’s most prolific Afrobeat talents. Bringing a flavour of his Hackney night Afrobeat Vibration to Manchester, Dele and his band fuse jazz, funk and Latin influences with the Yoruba rhythm of Afrobeat, guaranteed to bring any audience to its feet. The vibes continue with a session from legendary selector DJ Irfan Rainy.
